THIS IS CALL TO ACTION AND INVOLVEMENT FOR EVERY BELIEVER. HERE I AM SEND ME.
I have been a Montreal Canadiens hockey team fan since I can remember (early sixties). Consequently I am super spoiled. In my lifespan, as a fan, I have seen no less than 13 Stanley Cups won by this team. They are, along with the New York Yankees, one of the greatest and most decorated sports franchises in the world.
We are separated from the world, in it, but not of it. When we are at our best, Jesus flows through us, touching the world, freeing it from its bondage, setting men and women free from their sins. We are custodians and proclaimers of the gospel which is the power of God unto salvation for all who believe first the Jew then the Greek. We bear the glory of God. We are the Power. When Jesus is lifted up amongst us, men and women flock to him for relief, redemption and freedom from themselves.
I am touched by the vigil demonstrated by those women for our fallen soldiers. I am moved by the courage and the sentiment. Thank you to them. Well done. May every Muslim follow suit. Peace be upon you ladies. Yet I am sobered by the fact that their gracious act was NOT fundamentally Islamic. It was Western and dare I say it Christian.
As our hearts are prepared to enter into that presence and our minds saturated with the Word of the Lord to such a degree that we are convinced by faith Jesus in amongst us, to that degree will He manifest himself. In other words, he makes himself real to those who know that he is real, because he is real.
